Kasey Rausch

Acoustic guitar in hand, Kasey Rausch, a 5th generation musician and songwriter in the Kansas City area, creates the sounds of classic folk, with hues of country, and a hint of bluegrass. No Depression called Rausch’s vocals “tender and intuitive.” The Pitch Kansas City said she has “the influence of both Alison Krauss and Emmylou Harris... a voice you trust to tell the truth, a voice you can hear singing lullabies...” She was featured with her band, The Country Duo, on the legendary Sun Studio Sessions TV show which aired across the US and Canada. She’s a co-founder of River Trade Radio on KKFI 90.1FM and former host of “Campfire” on DittyTV. With four albums, an EP, and several singles, Kasey Rausch has shared stages with Joe Ely, Peter Rowan, Amy LaVere & Will Sexton, Roland White, William Elliot Whitmore, Gregory Alan Isokov, Iris DeMent, Ray Bonneville, Kris Delmhorst, Justin Townes Earle, Tish Hinojosa, Jack Williams, Vince Herman, The Elders, and many more. Her roots can be found in Parkville, Missouri, The Ozarks, Winfield, Kansas, and a childhood raisin’ in Southeast Texas. 

In film, Kasey Rausch had a starring role in the award winning short film Two Sisters (2012), a re-telling the old folk song “Oh the Wind and Rain,” which showed at the Chicago International Movies and Music Festival, Free State Film Festival, and Kansas City Film Festival, among others. She also appeared with her musical family in the documentary American Music Off the Record (2008) featuring Noam Chomsky, Jackson Browne and Johnny Winter. On the stage, Kasey, along with Marco Pascolini (The Country Duo) scored the Kansas City Actors Theater presentation of the Sam Shepard’s A Lie of the Mind (2017).

Kasey is currently writing a book titled "What the Hell Do I Know, But Here's What I Think (For Now) and refurbishing a 16-foot camper-turned home studio for the purpose of recording demos and obtaining work as a voiceover artist and audiobook narrator. Professional recording studio time is also in the future to document 40+ unreleased songs and counting.
