Parkville Arts & Crafts Fair - Saturday October 17th

Hello Star Lights!

It’s a rainy Fall day as I write. The kind of day that inspired the line, “It’s down in the fall and the wind is chill and there’s not one humming bird hummin’ anywhere around here,” in the song Bird So Free. It’s the season of birthdays for my parents, my daughter, dear friends and my own that falls on Thanksgiving Day this year. It’s the time for packing summer clothes away and digging out the warm-but-not-too-heavy sweaters. It’s typically my last handful of gigs for the year before I take my winter hiatus, but this year in general has been a season of few and far between gigs, with the most consistent being at a care facility for elders. Even that gig has now been put on hold as my time is dedicated more and more to my 100 year old Tiny Grama. Now that is a precious season.

Still, I have one last engagement that I have committed to and it happens this Saturday, October 17th at the Parkville Living Center’s Arts & Crafts Fair. I won’t be making music, but I will be slinging some vinyl records and CD’s of The Country Duo’s. I'm offering a select few of my knitted infinity neck warmers that I’m lovingly calling “Tiny Forever” scarves on account of she taught me how to knit and I put a literal twist on her previous small neckwarmer design. I'll have a handful of watercolors with lyrics from the song “All Boats Rise,” and even some cute lil’ earrings I’ve made over the last year or so. Every purchase comes with a download of music, either a single or a whole ding-dang album!

There will be 30+ artists at this indoor event. A portion of all sales benefits The Parkville Living Center, an organization committed to creating and maintaining a space that respects and values the diversity of life experiences and provides whole-person support and development programs at low or no costs.

Here’s the recap:
Who: 30+ artists
What: Parkville Living Center Arts & Crafts Fair
Where: 819 Main Street - Parkville, Missouri (ground level/basement of Parkville Presbyterian)
When: Saturday, October 17th, 10-2pm
Why: Community building! Supporting the arts! Treating yourself! Gift giving!

After this event, I’ll be curling back up in my homes, tending to elders and babies (I have two grandbabies now! Aro is 18 months and Odin joined us earthside on September 22! Technically they are of my two nieces, but to me, they are my grandbabies.) I got a new cookbook recently that I’m loving and might just work my way through the whole ding-dang thing. (Check out PlantYou Quickiesfor quick, healthy, vegan meals!) No gigs for the foreseeable future. When the time is right to book again, I will know.

I am still writing - songs, poetry, prose. I’m slowly working on a book called “What the Hell Do I Know, But Here’s What I Think (For Now).” I’m sharing excerpts from the book and all of the aforementioned on Patreon, where there is a new $1/month option (or pay for a year in advance for just $12!). There is a free option, too, where I share things like books I’ve been reading (check out my latest booklist) and a collection of my favorite cover songs, including collaborations with dear friends Brandon Moore, Molly Healey, Little Jones, Kelly Hunt and Kristin Hamilton. You can even give the gift of a membership to someone you think would enjoy it! Thank you for considering supporting me on that platform.

I wish you all well and I hope to see you Saturday! I hope you all are easing into fall with joy, creativity and all of the love and support you need.

Give Love! Shine Bright!
